Dr. Mark Wang graduated from the University of Auckland in 2018 and is pursuing a fellowship in General Practice and has completed post-graduate training in Women’s Health. Dr. Mark is interested in General Practice and is keen to pursue further training in skin conditions to supplement his postgraduate research in skin cancers.

In his spare time, Dr. Mark enjoys DIY around the house, cooking up new recipes and perfecting his swings at the golf range.

Dr. Mark speaks fluent English and Mandarin.

Dr. Daniel Kim is a local graduate from the University of Auckland and has worked across Auckland district health boards, primarily in North Shore and Waitakere Hospital.

Currently Dr. Daniel is pursuing a fellowship in General Practice and has special interest in skin minor surgeries and aesthetics medicine.

Dr Daniel enjoys the diverse exposure General Practice has to offer and believes in continuity of care.

Outside of work, he loves spending time with his family, especially his cute nephew, and you could find Dr Daniel showing off his skills around the local tennis courts!

Dr Daniel speaks fluent English and Korean.

Dr. Maryanne is a fourth generation Chinese New Zealander who graduated from the University of Auckland in 2014. Since then, she has worked across the Auckland district health boards and completed a post-graduate diploma in Paediatrics and now has returned after working in general practice in Waikanae.

Currently Dr. Maryanne is completing her fellowship training in General Practice and has a special interest in Paediatrics and Women’s health.

She enjoys developing long-term relationships as well as the variety and opportunities to give back to the community that general practice allows. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, crafts, walks, bird watching, travel, movies and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Balwin Jassal is the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Northpoint Medical & Skin Centre.

Dr. Balwin is a Fellow of The Royal New Zealand College of General practitioners.

Dr. Balwin Jassal graduated from the University of Auckland’s School of Medicine in 2009.

He completed his medical internship with Waitemata District Health Board working at North Shore and Waitakere Hospital with varied specialties.

Between 2011 & 2012, he worked as a surgical registrar in various surgical subspecialties at Auckland City Hospital. During this time, he developed a keen interest in Skin Cancer Management.

He subsequently joined a private practice in 2013 and had worked in several Private Practices and Accident & Medical Centres around Auckland. Dr. Jassal brings a friendly and informal approach to consultations and enjoys practicing across the breadth of general practice. He has a keen special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine, and has been active in this field since 2013.

Having completed post-graduate training in Skin Cancer Management, Treatment and achieving Advance Certificates, he is highly trained in the diagnosis with digital dermoscopy. He has completed >1000 surgical procedures and is able to perform advanced techniques such as skin flaps and grafts and is Accredited by the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.

Medicine has been his lifelong passion. He strongly believes in a “Holistic” approach with his patients.

Dr. Jassal lives locally with his wife Yasmin. Outside of work, he loves taking long walks at the beach with his dogs Bo & Cujo and spending quality time with family and friends. He also enjoys travelling, sports, and trying cuisines from different parts of the world.

Dr. Balwin is currently only accepting Skin Consultations.

BHSc, PGDip Health Sciences, Master of Nursing

Manpreet completed her nursing degree in 2008 in India and immigrated to New Zealand in 2009. Her early nursing years were spent working in aged care as a Registered Nurse in various centres in New Zealand. Post her training, clinical education and postgraduate certification, Manpreet is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner.

Manpreet specializes in older adults and primary care.

Aside from working with us here at Northpoint Medical & Skin Centre, Manpreet runs independent clinics in residential aged care facilities in Auckland. Manpreet is a passionate Nurse Practitioner and strongly believes in patient centred care which emulates our ethos in Northpoint Medical.

Manpreet lives locally with her family. Outside of work, Manpreet enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She’s a foodie at heart and loves to explore various cuisines!

Manpreet is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

Dominique is an experienced Registered Nurse working with adult mental health in acute medical care and in community practice. She values a person-centered approach to care and is highly passionate about mental health.

Dominique graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Nursing and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences, focusing on Mental Health and Addictions at the University of Auckland.

Dominique has an amazing ability to connect with people. Her infectious feel-good attitude and bright smile bring such a positive vibe to the Northpoint Medical Team.

Outside of work, Dominique enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She loves playing board games and creating art through drawing, designing, music, and poetry.

Yoshie immigrated to NZ in 2009 after working as a nurse in Japan for 3 years.  She continued her studies here in NZ and has a postgraduate in Health Science from the University of Auckland.

Yoshie’s primary experience has been from working in district hospitals in NZ in various medical wards and looking after gastroenterology patients.

Yoshie has special interest in management of long-term medical conditions and wholesome health promotion and a strong advocate for immunisation.

Outside of work, Yoshie is a busy mum with an active young boy.

Yoshie speaks fluent English and Japanese.

Jenna is in her second year of practice as a Registered Nurse. Having graduated from Massey University in 2021 with a Bachelors of Nursing.

Jenna completed her first year of practice in Waikato Hospital general surgical theatre, where she learnt a lot about patient care but grew to want more patient interaction and to build long standing therapeutic relationships with her patients.

Jenna is passionate about youth’s access and engagement with healthcare, as well as patient education especially post-operative care. Jenna strives to provide all patient care with an easy going attitude and a smile.

Outside of work Jenna can be found reading, watching movies, or baking. She also has a strong appreciation for art, especially tattoos.

Nicole is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist and clinical Pilates instructor.

She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPhty) and is currently pursuing her Postgraduate Certificate in Western Acupuncture (PGCert Acup) with AUT.

Nicole believes in whole-body wellness and the importance of maintaining our physical body. She achieves her approach with a combination of Neurokinetic Therapy, Acupuncture, Pilates and hands-on Physiotherapy. Nicole is currently one of the only two Neurokinetic Therapy Practitioner based in North Shore, Auckland.

She has various certifications in different Pilates equipment and pre & post-natal care. Some of her other qualifications include being a SFMA, Mulligan concepts, and Mckenzie technique practitioner. She also has experience working with sports teams, acute hospital care, orthopedic, and senior person rehabilitation care.

Nicole’s approach to physiotherapy allows her to work well with chronic conditions, motor control issues, dysfunctional movement patterns and injury prevention. She also has a special interest in jaw (TMJ) dysfunctions and its effect on the whole body.

During her free time, Nicole enjoys travelling, reading a book, and eating good food.

Claudia is our part time Medical Receptionist.

Claudia previously worked in the service industry as a Travel Agent booking holiday packages for clients all over the world until Covid came knocking! Undeterred, Claudia decided to use the opportunity to pursue her passion in healthcare and is currently studying Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) at Auckland University of Technology.

It is now Claudia’s new found passion and she is really enjoying all aspects of nursing.

Claudia loves meeting and connecting with new people and helping where possible.

In her spare time she loves spending time with friends and family, watching movies and going to the beach.

Charlotte is our Full Time Medical Receptionist and previously worked in the service industry.

Charlotte is passionate in people communication and interaction which is a plus from her previous work experience.

In her spare time you will find Charlotte at car meets or spending some quality time with her friends.

Tagan is our new Full Time Medical Receptionist.

Tagan previously worked in Early Childhood Education and decided it was time to move onto the next chapter of life, venturing into admin.

As an ex-dancer who sustained a back injury, she has a passion for helping people in need and being there for her community.

In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Ann has been a steadfast member at Northpoint Medical & Skin Centre for the past 5 years and has now taken over as the Practice Manager.

Ann ensures that Northpoint Medical & Skin Centre patients are the number one priority. Ann is dedicated in ensuring our patients receive the highest level of medical care and treatment support.

She is approachable, loves to interact with people, and have a good laugh.

In her spare time, Ann loves to spend time with her beautiful family and her guilty pleasures are watching suspense/thriller movies or TV series!

Yasmin Parmar is the Co – Founder and Managing Director of Northpoint Medical & Skin Centre.​

Yasmin is a qualified professional accountant who has worked as an auditor and in numerous positions within Multi Nationals Companies with over 12 years of experience. Yasmin brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in management.

Yasmin lives locally with her husband, Dr. Balwin Jassal. Outside of work, she loves taking long walks at the beach with her dogs Bo & Cujo and spending quality time with family and friends. She is an avid reader, traveler, and foodie.
